“Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams facing problems post divorce

by | Jul 16, 2018 | Divorce

Doctor Jackson Avery is a main character on the TV drama series, “Grey’s Anatomy.” The man who plays Avery is actor Jesse Williams. New Jersey fans of the show may be aware that Williams is currently entangled in a bitter post-divorce dispute with his former wife.

The former couple has two children together. Williams was recently ordered to increase his monthly child support payments to an amount he says is unreasonable. He stated that he does not believe his children’s needs necessitate more than $50,000 a month and believes his former wife overstated their needs when she asked the court to increase the payment amount. Williams says when they were married, the two always agreed they would raise their children in a simple lifestyle, not matter how affluent they were at the time.

The father of two says they fed their children home-cooked meals and took them on simple, inexpensive outings for fun. He also told the court their home was not lavishly furnished but that he and his ex bought their furniture at Ikea. He says that is what his kids are used to and it didn’t cost more than $50,000 per month.

Like many New Jersey residents who divorce, Williams also pays spousal support as part of the former couples divorce settlement. He says part of the problem is that he believes his wife was adding her own expenses into the requested amount of child support, misrepresenting them as part of her children’s needs. He has taken steps to appeal the court’s ruling.
