Biography

Michael H. Schreiber has been practicing law in New Jersey for over 38 years.  He is a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney and has received a great deal of admiration and press recognition from cases he has handled.  He has tried and litigated several murder cases, including one death penalty case and has never had a jury return a guilty verdict for murder.  He has handled cases both as an Assistant Prosecutor and a defense attorney.  He was one of the lead attorneys in the highly publicized voter fraud trial from Atlantic City in 2011 which resulted in findings of not guilty for all defendants.

One of the things that separates Michael from many attorneys is how much he cares about his clients and fights for their rights.  In addition to representing private clients, Michael is on the pool attorney list in Atlantic, Ocean, Cape May and Cumberland Counties in New Jersey.  He treats every client with respect no matter if they are private clients or pool clients.  Everyone who knows Michael has seen how hard he fights for his clients.  Michael has even been quoted as saying, "if I don't stick up for someone who needs help, then who will?"  He has carried this belief with him his entire life.  Even while growing up Michael would stand up for those who could not stand up for themselves.  He first knew he wanted to be a criminal defense attorney when he watched Gregory Peck portraying Attorney Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird".  Atticus defends a poor black man unjustly accused of raping a white woman in a racist Southern rural community set in the 1930's.

Michael H. Schreiber graduated from West Orange High School in 1974.  He was a captain of the football team and an All-American.  He was a lifeguard in Beach Haven, NJ for six (6) years.  He then attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in 1978.  He graduated Doctoris in Jure Cum Laude from Seton Hall Law School in 1982.  Michael Schreiber has been a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney since 1989.  He is able to appear in the Third Circuit Federal Court in New Jersey.  He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Atlantic County Bar Association.

Michael is married with three (3) children.  Outside of the office, he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, golfing and fishing.  He works out every day to stay in shape.  This has served him well as on Memorial Day weekend in 2008, he was able to save four (4) people from drowning in Beach Haven.  For this, he received the Andrew Carnegie Hero Award in 2009, a very prestigious award that is reserved for a few individuals.
